Yohan’s Pasta Visual Identity

CHALLENGE: Create a standout brand identity for a pasta restaurant that blends quality Italian cuisine with retro pizzeria charm in a highly competitive food market.

APPROACH: I designed a playful yet authentic visual system centered around a custom spaghetti illustration that serves as both a memorable icon and storytelling element. The nostalgic aesthetic uses a vibrant red-green-cream color palette and retro typography alongside classic Italian checkerboard patterns to evoke vintage pizzerias.

SOLUTION: The comprehensive identity includes a distinctive logo, packaging design, menu templates, social media assets, and delivery materials—all expressing the restaurant's unique personality. Custom illustrations of pasta dishes and thoughtful application of the checkerboard motif create a cohesive system across all customer touchpoints.

RESULTS: The branding won a Scholastic Gold Key award for its innovative blend of nostalgia and contemporary appeal. The distinctive visual identity has helped Yohan's Pasta stand out in the restaurant scene, creating a memorable and instantly recognizable brand in a crowded marketplace.
